Vicente Manuel Nomdedeu

Alcora (Castellón), 1959.

Degree in Economics from the University of Valencia and Master’s course in Executive Management at ESADE Business School. He also has a wide-ranging education in business management, having taken different courses on finances, management, human resources, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, etc.

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Azteca from 1987 to the present day.

Highly committed to the ceramic tile manufacturing sector, he joined the Board of the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association (ASCER) in 1998. In 2006, he was appointed Vice President of ASCER, taking up the position again on three occasions. In January 2018, after Mr Isidro Zarzoso passed away, he assumed the Presidency for the rest of the mandate and, in December 2019, he was elected President for another four years.

He is also on various advisory councils and committees in institutions linked to the industry and economy of the province: Cevisama, Chamber of Commerce, Qualicer, CEV (Valencian Business Confederation), CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations), ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade), and Port Authority of Valencia.

Greg Mather

Greg Mather is the President of Crossville Inc.  Established in 1985, Crossville Inc. was the first large format porcelain tile manufacturer in the US and is firmly established today as one of the most respected brands in the United States marketplace.  He started with Crossville in 2014.  In addition to advancing Crossville’s manufacturing position in the U.S., the company has also expanded its company owned tile distribution footprint during his tenure.

He has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and is an executive committee member of the Tile Council of North America.  Prior to joining Crossville, he held various leadership positions with Owens Corning and Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

Giovanni Savorani

Giovanni Savorani was born in Faenza (RA) 73 years ago, he is married and he has got two children. After graduating from the technical specialisation course at the State Institute of Ceramic Art in Faenza in 1968, he had been working for seven years as the plant manager of the company Barbieri e Burzi in Bologna. In July 1977 he was appointed as technical manager of CAST, a position he had held for ten years. In April 1987 he joined Cooperativa Ceramica di Imola to run the new porcelain tile facility, then in June 1990 he was appointed as Sales Manager of Sacmi Imola. In November 1994 he moved to Ceramiche La Faenza where he took on the role of General Manager, then in May 2005 he was appointed as General Manager of Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola. In July 2006 he began his entrepreneurial career founding Gigacer spa and he has been Chairman of the Board ever since. He was elected Chairman of Confindustria Ceramica on 6 June 2018 and was unanimously re-elected on 9 June 2020. He was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors in 2013 and he also participated in the Technical Standardisation Committee.

Gigacer spa has got a production capacity of 1.2 million square metres and operates in the Imola-Faenza ceramic cluster with 73 employees. Gigacer has always paid particular attention to product quality, workplace safety and environmental sustainability. Right from the beginning Gigacer has been using the innovative Continua technology to produce large size tiles starting the production of 120×120 cm porcelain floor tiles in 2007. The same year Gigacer also introduced unconventional solutions such as horizontal palletisation (rather than the standard vertical system) and reduced the use of packaging materials to a bare minimum.

Giorgio Severi

Giorgio Severi was born in Sassuolo (Italy) in 1969. He earned his Degree in Economics from Università Degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia in addition to pursuing the Erasmus Project at Universidad de Barcelona, Facultad de Empresariales.

In 1994 he joined Nassetti Ettore S.p.A. carrying out different functions in the sales back-office and he was subsequently promoted to area manager of Nassetti España (Castellon).

In 1997 he joined Barbieri & Tarozzi Iberica S.A. as area manager and Barbieri & Tarozzi Group as area manager Brazil.

In 2006 he joined Sicer España S.A. as Managing Director and subsequently was also appointed International Sales Director of Sicer S.p.A.

In 2015 he rejoined Siti Barbieri & Tarozzi Group as Managing Director of SITI B&T Iberica. Since 2020 he also became Internationl Business Director of the company.

Rogelio Vila

Rogelio Vila Rodríguez (1977), Degree in Chemical Engineering, specialising in Ceramics, from Universidad Jaume I of Castellón. Since 2000, he has conducted all his professional activity in companies producing flat ceramics, initially in Technical Management positions dealing with production processes, and in recent years in General Management positions. In 2013, he joined Equipe Cerámicas as company CEO.

Equipe Cerámicas, a Miura Partners investee company since 2018, is at present a global reference for small-sized earthenware tile, with over 250 workers, a production capacity of 5.5 million square metres, sales of EUR 70 million in the last fiscal year, and an EBITDA margin of over 40%. Since 2021, the company has been part of the Italcer group.

Michele Dondi

Michele Dondi is head researcher at the Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics (ISTEC-CNR Faenza, Italy) where he coordinates the research group on innovation in traditional ceramics. His activity is especially dealing with technological transfer, technical consultancy, and services to industries, bringing about numerous R&D contracts with ceramic companies as well as many international scientific and technological collaborations. His scientific production (160 publications in international journals, H-index 45) focuses, among others, on ceramic raw materials and resource efficiency.
